Confederation Day is the annual celebration commemorating the establishment of the Terran Confederation, observed on .235 throughout its systems by the humans and their allies. Around thatt time many officials take a vacation for several days, and on the eve there is much drinking.
The Kilrathi learned about the cultural significance of that day after capturing the colony on Fawcett's World. Gilkarg nar Kiranka, seeking for a campaign against the Terrans, he considered that day ideal for a surprise attack (jak-tu) against the Base McAuliffe, as many officials would be absent, and the ships' crews would be asleep or drunk. Lord Vakka wondered whether this action would enrage the humans more, as the Kilrathi would be if they were struck on Tuhaga.[1]
